Monash University presents The International Conference and Cultural Event of Lampung Indonesia

This International Conference and Cultural Event (ICCE Lampung 2021) on the arts, culture, religion, history and political economy of Lampung Province, Sumatra, will be presented by Monash University’s Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance in collaboration with the Monash Herb Feith Indonesia Engagement Centre on 14-16 December 2021.

The theme of the conference is: Exploring, Celebrating and Understanding the Performing and Visual Arts, History and Culture of Lampung

ICCE Lampung 2021 will be presented online via Zoom video conferencing, having been postponed twice due to the covid-19 pandemic.

If you wish to take part in ICCE Lampung 2021, please contact: arts.admin.ctp.music@monash.edu.

It is not too late to submit a paper proposal for presentation at the conference. Authors of abstracts (50-150 words) submitted to arts.admin.ctp.music@monash.edu by 30th August 2021 will receive notification from the ICCE Review Committee by 30th September 2021.

Dr Elly Kent is the editor of the ASAA's blog, Asian Currents and the ANU's Southeast Asia blog, New Mandala. She has worked as a researcher, writer, translator, artist, teacher and intercultural professional over 20 years in academia and the arts in Indonesia and Australia. Elly gained a double degree in Asian Studies (Specialist Indonesia) and Visual Arts (Hons) and a PhD in the same fields from the Australian National University. She is the author of Artists and the People: Ideologies of Indonesian Art (2022) NUS Press, and co-editor (with Virginia Hooker and Caroline Turner) of Living Art: Indonesian Artists Engage Politics, Society and History (2022) ANU Press.
