Applications for the Postdoctoral Writing Grant 2025 are now open and will close on Thursday 17 April 2025.

The ASAA has established a Postdoctoral Writing Grant to assist PhD graduates to develop work for publication. This replaces what was formerly known as the ASAA Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Writing Grant consists of a one-off honorarium of $5,000.

Applicants must be members of the ASAA, have been awarded a PhD no more than 7 years before the closing date, and not hold a permanent or full-time fixed-term academic position. The application form asks for a statement of employment since PhD graduation, list of publications, and a description of the proposed publication that the grant will assist in bringing to completion.  The selection committee will consider both the quality of the applicant and of the proposed publication project.
