The Indo-Pacific Research Centre at Murdoch University is recruiting a new Director at either Level D or Level E. The position is full-time, fixed-term for 5 years. Applications will close on 5 May 2023.
About the Centre
The Indo-Pacific Research Centre (IPRC) engages with significant regional challenges of our century: socio-economic development, human security, and geo-strategic governance. Launched in 2023, the new Centre builds upon the outstanding research foundations of Murdoch University, combining the Asia Research Centre’s international reputation for high-impact research and HDR training, the expertise of the Africa Research Group and Centre for Responsible Citizenship and Sustainability. The IPRC’s objectives and research excellence respond to increasing demand by governments and other agencies—including the EU, USAID, and DFAT—for improved understandings of the Indo-Pacific region.
The Role
The Director provides intellectual, operational, and administrative leadership of the Indo-Pacific Research Centre. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic plans to support the Centre’s research excellence and promote a culture of innovation and collaboration. They will also work collaboratively with others to conduct high-quality research, identify opportunities for funding, lead and mentor others, engage in research-led training opportunities, strategically contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, and represent and promote the Centre within the University and to industry and other stakeholders.
