Asian Currents special series: Celebrating women’s contributions to the ASAA

Asian Currents, the flagship blog of the Asian Studies Association of Australia, is excited to launch a special series on celebrating women’s contributions to the ASAA. The series will run over the next two months and is edited by ASAA President, Professor Melissa Crouch, and Asian Currents Editor, Natasha Naidu.

The series will include a tribute to the late Elaine McKay by John Ingleson, reflections from Beverley Hooper (president 1995-96), Kathryn Robinson (president 2009-10), Mina Roces (publications officer 2004-15), Amrita Malhi (secretary 2013-16), Louise Edwards (president 2015-16; secretary 1999-2004) and Anne Platt (assistant editor, Asian Studies Review), and a concluding reflection to the series by Natasha Naidu (editor, Asian Currents).

The introduction to the series, written by Melissa Crouch, is available to read now here.

If you have an idea for a post or a series that you are keen to publish with Asian Currents, please get in touch here.
