Position advertised: Assistant Professor in Anthropology and International Studies”-Southeast Asia (US)

The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks a tenure-track assistant professor for a joint appointment in Anthropology and International Studies. The tenure home and half of the teaching responsibilities of the appointee (including graduate-level teaching and advising) will be in the Department of Anthropology. The remaining half of the appointee’s teaching responsibilities will be in the International Studies Major. We will accept applications until November 15, 2021. We seek a cultural anthropologist with research and teaching strengths in social justice issues in Southeast Asia who will be able to contribute to the International Studies Major’s research and teaching on global culture and social justice, broadly construed. The successful candidate will maintain an active field-based research program in Southeast Asia; will teach in anthropology and international studies; and will communicate scholarship effectively to broader audiences inside and outside the academy.

Work Type: Full Time: 100%

This position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
